- 3 Reasons why Barcelona couldn't get to their dream start in the UCL campaign.
Ter Stegen's awful performance
The recent fixture against AS Monaco was one of the worst fixtures for the German goalkeeper and Barca's captain, Ter Stegen. Committing a plethora of mistakes, Ter Stegen's display acted significantly in contrast to what had been expected from him. Starting with the early red card, which led the club to be reduced to 10 men, that too in the 10th minute of the fixture, to getting frozen by Akliouche's shot, which led to the first goal for Monaco, and much more, the UCL opener was a nightmare for the goalkeeper.
As a result, the German number 1 has been facing severe criticism from football fans and pundits around the world. While it has not been the first time that Ter Stegen has been pointed out, this time it has been much evident that the goalkeeper was at significant fault in the club's first loss of the season.
