Pena's poor show

Since FC Barcelona's priority number 1, Ter Stegen, faced a severe injury in the club's dominating win against Villarreal, speculations had been going on for the season ahead. While the club feels on the verge of signing 34-year-old veteran keeper Wojciech Szczesny, he is still yet to be announced as an official Barcelona player, making Pena the starter against Osasuna. Even though the 25-year-old keeper hadn't conceded a goal in his one and a half games before, he wasn't completely convincing either and ultimately got exposed against Osasuna.

Although much can be said on the part of the Blaugrana club's inexperienced backline, Pena's credibility in the club's humiliating loss can't be erased. In the initial minutes, the keeper didn't look very convincing, conceding two early goals within the first 28 minutes, setting up the club's first loss. For the last two goals, he wasn't just fortunate enough, as it came on a penalty and one through a rather unstoppable strike. Overall, it was a poor show from Inaki Pena, who doesn't seem efficient enough to be Barca's undisputed starter.
