Front three lapse
Going with a heavily rotated lineup not only deprived them of a quality backline but rather one of the best front trios in Europe. Starting prodigy forward Pau Victor in his unconventional left wing role and Ferran Torres, who hasn't been in form, on the right, Flick chose one of the least vulnerable wing duos ever. As was clearly evident in the first half, apart from a few chances created by Captain Pedri and young Pablo Torre through the center, attacks from the wings seemed lacking.
Although the German mastermind did eventually sub their best two stars, Lamine Yamal and Raphinha, in the 59th minute, the fixture's result couldn't be influenced much. However, once again, the two showed why they should start every game for the Blaugrana club, as the unit looked much sharper in creating chances. In the 89th minute, Yamal, with a brilliant strike, did pull off a consolation goal, but the fixture's fate had been decided much before.
