LEWANDOWSKI SETS THE TONE WITH A BRACE

One of the most promising signs from the game at Mastella was Lewandowski's relentlessness infront of goal. The veteran striker was superb with his positioning and earned himself a brace to do his confidence a world of good. Lewandowski seldom completed the entire 90minutes towards the fag end of last season but the striker seems to have found a new lease of life with the managerial change, under whom he enjoyed his most prolific goal scoring form.

The tactical shift to a 4-2-3-1 from a more conventional 4-3-3 allowed the Polish International to play primarily as a target man. The dynamic duo of Raphinha and Yamal managed to find the striker in dangerous positions and their ability to do so throughout the course of the season would be crucial if Barcelona are to win any silverware this time around. Lewandowski was left wanting for more last season but has kickstarted the new campaign with a MOTM performance much to the delight of Cules accross the planet.
