Barca moves away from the ongoing tussle for loan star

Since Joao Felix's loan deal ended on June 30th, the situation surrounding his Barcelona move has witnessed many turns. Though FC Barcelona had initially announced that they wouldn't be acquiring Joao Felix and Joao Cancelo as part of their next-season roster, they soon deleted the official post.

This not only made the drama regarding Joao's move more significant but also further delayed Felix's plan to choose a new club. However, deep inside, Felix was aware of Barca's interest in the Nico Williams deal and was somewhat convinced that they may not be able to back him for another season.

Moreover, Atletico's price reveal for Felix's transfer acted as the final nail in the coffin, as Barca didn't look in a position to spend €60 million for the Portuguese forward, and Atletico didn't want a loan. With Barca aggressively moving in for the Nico Williams deal, the chances of Felix's return seem very slim.

Talking about Joao's future, there has been significant interest in the 24-year-old forward from clubs like Benfica and some names from PL. Recently, Aston Villa boss Unai Emery expressed his admiration for the Portuguese. Reports indicate that Jorge Mendes also continues to work for his Barça move despite the difficulties regarding the formula between the clubs.

Felix's situation at Barca seems much more complicated, clearly indicating a lack of interest and resources for him. With the likes of Robert Lewandowski, Lamine Yamal, and the possible new addition Nico Williams, along with fringe stars like Raphinha, the attack seems well versatile.

According to reports from Diario Sport, Joao Felix will not continue at Barcelona, as Atletico doesn't want another loan. Having a fragile relationship with Diego Simeone, Felix's future doesn't look at Rojiblancos as well. Thus, whatever may happen, it is almost certain that unless and until some magic takes place, Felix won't continue in Barcelona.
