However, good news seems circulating through the Barca camp as recent reports suggest that Gavi has begun practicing with the team in the 2024/25 preseason. Gavi, a crucial name for the club, was sidelined by a ligament tear injury, forcing the midfielder to stay out of the game after eight months.
Apart from FC Barcelona, Gavi's ACL injury could have been detrimental for De La Fuente's squad had players like Dani Olmo, Fabian Ruiz, and Lamine Yamal not stepped up. The 19-year-old midfielder, although a part of the 26-member squad for Spain, didn't feature in any fixture, as he was still injury-prone. However, the King of Spain still counts him as an integral part of the Euro team, as he requested the Catalan midfielder to show up in the Euro Finals in Berlin. King Felipe VI said,

Once the Euros conclude, the midfielder will hopefully feature for FC Barcelona at his best. Hansi Flick started his preseason training camp on 11th July, and Gavi's return brings in the much-needed positivity for the Catalan club's midfield. Moreover, several other youngsters, like Vitor Roque, Alejandro Balde, and Ansu Fati, also featured in the training. Barca's preseason tour will see the team lineup against the likes of Real Madrid and Man City, and thus, the presence of a box-to-box midfielder like Gavi could be pivotal in Pedri's absence.
