Ever since Barcelona aspired to complete their dream signings of Dani Olmo and a high-profile left winger in the summer transfer window, it was certain that the club would need some big sales. Considering the names that the Blaugrana club can afford to go as per the current scenario, Vitor Roque's name comes on top.

Signed in early 2023, the Brazilian forward hasn't enjoyed a smooth run in his Barca career. Even though Xavi's exit and Flick's appointment provided Roque a fresh start to fight for a place in the XI, the forward's poor show in Barcelona's preseason tour has pushed the player to the brink of leaving the club.

CR7's former club enters the race for Vitor Roque

While initially, many clubs had shown interest in acquiring the Brazilian's signature, it seemed the Premier League would be the player's final destination for the next campaign. Reports had suggested that Everton were in ongoing talks with Deco, being on the look to explore a deal to sign Vitor Roque.

However, recent reports suggest that another club has joined the race to sign Vitor Roque. Sporting Lisbon, the club from which Cristiano Ronaldo took off his illustrious career, seems interested in Barca's young forward. Reports suggest that Sporting Lisbon wants Vitor Roque. and the Portuguese club is already negotiating with Barça to buy the player. Formulas to face the operation are being evaluated, and Sporting is exploring a deal to sign Vitor Roque until the deadline day.

Even though there has been significant intervention by Sporting in Roque's saga, Everton is still there as the most prominent destination for the Brazilian. The PL club, whose first offer of €25M + €3M in add-ons was immediately rejected by Barcelona, is still willing to put €28M on the table for Vitor Roque. However, still far from Barcelona's expectations, Everton is in talks with Deco.

FC Barcelona's statement is clear: they want at least €30M from Roque's deal. Considering the clauses of Roque's departure deal, Barca would have to pay a significant amount of the transfer fee to Athletico Paranaense, Roque's former club, and thus, they need at least €30M-€35M to reduce their losses on the player's overall scenario.

Currently, further updates on Roque's potential move are yet to arrive; however, Everton, Sporting, and Bournemouth are still active in talks to sign Vitor Roque. However, it is certain that Barcelona aims to extract a significant amount of cash from the deal and may not proceed further at anything below €30M.
