Deco reflects upon Barca's summer transfer window and the club's new season start

FC Barcelona has started the new 2024/25 campaign in the best way possible. Having managed four consecutive victories with an impressive performance overall, the Blaugrana club has dominated the La Liga so far. With goals coming from the forwards, brilliant play from the midfield ballers, and a rock-solid defensive show in front of the goal, Barca has stood out in all aspects of the game so far.

Deco reflects upon Barca's summer transfer window and the club's new season start

Reflecting upon the club's beautiful start, FC Barcelona's Sporting Director Deco showed his happiness but pointed that they will need to continue the same way forward. Deco spoke on the club's campaign so far,

""I value it well; we are happy. To win a league, you have to add points, and winning the first four games is important. But we return to the same thing; we must continue working with desire and responsibility.""

While much of FC Barcelona's season success until now is reserved for the players and the mastermind Hansi Flick, Deco holds a key percentage of their impressive run as well. The sporting director was clear in his plans, even before the transfer window began, and helped Barca complete a successful transfer event.

Recently, mentioning the preparations, the club had made, for the summer transfer window, Deco spoke,

""The idea was that if these youngsters work, we don't have to go to the transfer market so much. The idea was to find this balance and to know what we were missing. Within what we had in mind, I think we found the balance.""

Although FC Barcelona made a single heavyweight signing, Dani Olmo, this summer, it was much because of the importance of the youngsters at the Catalan club. As has been the tradition, young prodigies always contribute significantly, and once again, it has been the case this season.

On top of that, Olmo's addition has felt to be one of the club's best decisions executed in the recent past. With goal contributions in both his appearances so far, the Spaniard has been pivotal in Barca's offensive presence. Speaking on Olmo's importance at the club, Deco mentioned,

""I think the signing of Dani Olmo gives us a lot of balance in midfield; he gives us a profile that is quite different from the ones we already had in this zone.""
