Former La Masia graduate joins the club on Hansi Flick's staff
- Thiago Alcantara has officially become a part of Hansi Flick's staff.
- The former La Masia prodigy will accompany the team on their US Preseason tour.
After announcing his retirement from professional football on July 8, it was certain that Thiago Alcantara would remain connected to the beautiful sport of football in one way or another. And soon, just two days later, reports suggested that he had given his approval to be a part of the Barcelona family again.
Though his role is different from the time he left the Catalan club for Bayern, he has stepped into the management role. As a member of Hansi Flick's staff, Thiago's major task would be to act as the perfect link between his former manager, Hansi Flick, and the players of FC Barcelona. Even though there were many options, Thiago fits in the role perfectly because of his past familiarity with the Catalan club.

As mentioned, Thiago will be part of the US pre-season tour, which will see Barca face off against top European teams like Manchester City, Real Madrid, and AC Milan. Moreover, with Lamine Yamal being rested for the preseason and star players like De Jong, Pedri, and Araujo out for a few months, Thiago's role would become more prominent in carrying the young team.
According to the present scenario, Ansu Fati and Mikayil Faye could be key, as these players have been showing impressive signs. Most importantly, in the absence of Lamine Yamal and Araujo, they would have a great chance to showcase their potential and make their entry into the next season's playing XI. Though a lot is yet to come, Barca would hope to kick off the preseason with a win, making them confident for the upcoming campaign.
