PEDRI
Coming on the back of a Hamstring injury, Pedri had been showing glimpses of his potential lately. These were the words of Spain's boss, De La Fuente,
"“For me, Pedri is one of the best players in the world. He is getting better each day.”"De La Fuente(via press conference)
On top of that, by providing an assist in the inaugural matchday of Euro 2024, Pedri gained the confidence of Spain to count upon him in big games. However, destiny had other plans: just 8 minutes into the fixture, Pedri suffered a knee sprain after the German veteran Toni Kroos attempted a rough tackle on the Spaniard.
Immediately, Dani Olmo got subbed in for the Catalan midfielder. Though Spain managed to get past Germany in the extra time, Pedri's absence can prove detrimental as he misses the rest of Euro 2024.
