Since the International tournaments have marked the end of 2023/24 campaign officially, the club football has been showcasing its readiness to take the centre stage. The ongoing summer transfer window 2024/25 has already witnessed some of the biggest European names changing their clubs, and has a lot in store as still players like Nico Williams, Mikel Merino remain to decide upon their future.
Though, many clubs have shown active participation in their preparations ahead of the next campaign, the last few weeks have seen things happening at different pace in FC Barcelona. Having appointed their former La Masia graduate, Thiago to assist in, the new in, Flick’s role and being in the race for some huge signings, Barca seem to be doing things in the right direction.

After improvising Ansu Fati’s fitness, and helping Balde recover significantly, now the German manager is eyeing improvements in Barcelona’s midfield. And, for this job, he wants Thiago Alcantara to enhance and develop Pedri, and Gavi, the players who certainly will become the face of Barca’s midfield.
Thiago Alcantara, who himself endorsed the central midfield role, knows what the two youngsters need to reach such level of consistency. Moreover, being a part of the club’s rich history, Thiago is well aware of the club’s playing style, making him the best fit for this role.
Even though there doesn’t seem to be a problem in the duo’s dedication for the Catalan club, they still need to work significantly to become less injury-prone. Considering that both of these players had to be ruled out from the Euros, due to injuries, their physique seems an area which could be improved further.
