Iñigo Martínez's 'New' Injury and Lucas Bergvall's Transfer Update
By Shree Desai
Immediately after his return, another injury struck Iñigo Martínez like a curse. In FC Barcelona's Copa Del Rey clash against UD Barbastro, Martínez couldn't last 10 minutes as the Spanish international picked up another injury.
The defender had just come back from a hamstring injury which lasted 33 days. Unfortunately, the 32-year-old picked up another hamstring injury against Barbastro. Xavi took careful measures for the sake of the defender, but this was totally unprecedented.
The Catalan manager avoided starting Martínez so that he takes it a bit easy, but the Spaniard's luck wasn't on his side. This adds another player to the long list of the injured, which makes it 6. Many specualted Alejandro Balde to be injured as well, but the full-back wasn't a part of the squad due to cold, which isn't a big deal.
João Cancelo was recently injured in the match against Las Palmas. Also, Lamine Yamal isn't available for the next Copa Del Rey fixture too, due to a match suspension. Others on the injured list include Marc-André ter Stegen, Marcos Alonso, Gavi and Pedri.
The players are being injured one by one like planned assassinations. This is definitely going to be a test of Barcelona's and Xavi's endurance. How it plays out is to be seen..
"I know there is a lot of speculation, but I'm trying to focus on the national team," Lucas Bergvall
Barcelona target Lucas Bergvall was prey to some questioning regarding his rumoured move to FC Barcelona. The Swede didn't clear up doubts regarding his future and told that currently he is more focused on the national team.
"I know there is a lot of speculation, but I'm trying to focus on the national team and I'm happy to be here for the January tour. Now I'm a Djurgarden player."

Djurgårdens IF is asking €9 million for the young talent. Considering Barcelona's financial situation and the other transfer targets Barça has, it might be impossible for the 17-year-old to make the move this winter.
"I am proud that my club is asking for so much money. But Djurgarden and my agents will take care of that. I don't know where I will play next season."

The kid currently seems to be focused on his on-pitch duties, making his intentions clear regarding a transfer. Lucas has done everything he can. Hopefully, other things fall in place for him.
