2. N'Golo Kanté – The Veteran

The potential signing of N'Golo Kanté, currently with Al Ittifaq in the Saudi Pro League, is an intriguing option for Barcelona. The French midfielder, who recently led his national team to the Euro 2024 final with two MOTM performances, remains one of the best in his position despite entering his mid 30s.

Kanté’s ability to track back as a holding midfielder to break up opponents’ attack, combined with his knack for contributing to build-up play, is a rare skill set that would add a new layer of security to the middle of the pitch.

Barcelona's midfield is full of creative attacking talent, but it lacks a true defensive anchor. Kanté could provide the balance required to allow players like Pedri, Gavi, and Olmo to thrive in more offensive roles.

Convincing Al Ittifaq to part with their prized veteran would be challenging, especially given the lucrative nature of the Saudi Pro League, but Kanté’s ability to impact the game at the highest level makes him a valuable target. Securing the Frenchman would be a low-budget solution to one of Barcelona's most glaring problems.
