It has been long since Nico Williams was linked with FC Barcelona. Barca, who have held the most interest in the jet-heeled winger, has reached a substantial stage in Nico's transfer move. With personal agreements made and the club being ready with his release clause amount, Barca is just waiting for the final green light from Nico's side.

Even though PSG tried to interrupt with a lucrative offer, having double the salary of Barca's offer, the chances of Nico moving to Ligue seem dim. According to reports, the Spanish winger isn't analyzing the many offers he has and is considering either a stay at his current club or a reunion with Lamine Yamal at Barcelona.

Who would Nico Williams choose: Athletic Club or FC Barcelona?

Furthermore, some reports do indicate that Nico Williams has already decided on where he will play next season. Moreover, the 22-year-old has informed about his future to those who are very close to him. To this moment, no Athletic Club player knows anything about Nico Williams' decision except his brother Inaki Williams.

Analyzing the Nico Williams saga from a neutral perspective, the chances are almost the same whichever club the winger chooses. While much interest was shown by Nico Williams in the initial stages of his potential Barcelona move, the intensity seems to have fallen off as he is reconsidering his future club choice.

Moreover, reports from Diario SPORT suggest that Nico Williams had made a promise to his brother Inaki that he would stay at Athletic Club for at least one more season. Thus, even though there hasn't been a confirmation regarding his Athletic stay, chances are high that he might resort to continuing at his current club.

Transfer Expert Fabrizio Romano has hinted that it wouldn't be long till Nico's decision arrives, and if it goes against Barca, Athletic has prepared a better deal with a high salary for Nico's stay. The Blaugrana club still feels confident about Nico's decision, as Deco has not traveled with the team to the United States to manage Nico's deal in a better way.

Though any further updates regarding Nico's decision are yet to arrive, Barca would hope that they manage to bring in Nico Williams, who has been their top priority signing of the transfer window.
