Barca's pursuit of Nico Williams has been on since Euro began; however, what's surprising is that the player hasn't officially joined the Blaugrana club yet. Even though Barcelona reached an agreement with Williams' agent quite some time ago, the player's final approval is still yet to arrive, complicating his Barca future.
Will PSG hijack Barcelona's Nico Williams deal?
Recently, the player had given some clarifications, stating that he would either stay at Athletic or come to Barca, but now Nico's move doesn't feel the same intensity as before. According to reports, Ligue 1 giants PSG seem to have joined in the race for the Spanish winger. And even if it sounds scary, the question remains: will PSG hijack Barcelona's biggest transfer window deal of the summer?
Clearly, Barca has done everything exceptionally well in time to acquire the winger's signature. Be it reaching on personal terms or making money arrangements, Nico's deal has been the topmost priority for the Catalan club in the last few days. And if PSG hijacks Nico Williams, it would be disheartening for every Barcelona fan to witness the winger going away.
According to sources, PSG has offered the Eurostar double his salary, making it a reasonably good offer for his agents to rethink. Former Barcelona manager and the current boss of PSG, Luis Enrique, has made it clear that he wants to sign Nico, and given PSG's offer, Barca's situation might change in this deal.
On the other hand, FC Barcelona has set eyes on Nico's final decision, which might hurt them in the future. Not to forget, PSG has signed record-breaking signings like Neymar and Mbappe in the past, and Barcelona's overly possessiveness for Nico might prevent them from doing any marquee signings in the summer transfer window.
Just to remind you, Nico's deal is witnessing something similar to Olmo's Barca case, as other clubs seem to be entering late in the market to acquire these top deals. Though further updates on Nico's and Olmo's future are yet to arrive, Barca would hope that they find these two on their next season roster.
