FC Barcelona has started their new campaign on a brilliant note. Having won all the games so far, this season, the club finds itself on the top of the La Liga table. In fact, their recent dominating victory of 4-1 against Girona, has been a statement from the side towards the rest of Europe. With the Champions League 1st matchday underway, Barca is set to face Monaco in their UCL season opener.

While the majority of the Blaugrana players have been in great touch recently, the club has been facing a constant headache of injury issues. Although Barca's recent victory against Girona had many positives for the club, it came with the injury of their star signing Dani Olmo. As per reports, Olmo would be sidelined for more than a month and thus, the question arises, Who would be Hansi Flick's choice for Olmo's role against Monaco?

Who would be Hansi Flick's choice for Olmo's role against Monaco?

Analyzing the available options for the Blaugrana club, there are mainly 3 possibilities which Flick could deploy for their Monaco fixture. Of them all, the biggest possibility in Olmo's absence can be Raphinha going in the Spaniard's role and Ferran Or Fati featuring on the left wing. Considering that this system was in place in the first few games this season, considerable chances are that Flick might stick with this.

Another major possibility is that Eric Garcia, who had been impressive, in the last few games, in the pivot role, starts alongside Marc Casado and Pedri moves to Olmo's place. Considering the kind of run, Pedri has been in, he could easily switch to the front, making this arrangement a significant choice for the German manager.

The last possibility involves keeping the rest of the lineup intact, while directly putting young prodigy Pablo Torre in Olmo's place. Even though the 21-year-old hasn't got significant minutes so far, this season, the youngster was a key component of Barca's Preseason tour, emerging as one of the best talents for the club. Given the player's similar profile to Dani Olmo, Torre could be a like to like replacement, even though lacking a bit in experience.

Overall, it is going to be a difficult choice for Hansi Flick, as to go with which setup in the important  matchday against Monaco. While the first two possibilities have a significant edge over the other two, chances of Torre starting in Olmo's role, can't be ruled out. However, whoever starts, Barca fans would expect the club to continue on winning ways, starting on a brilliant note in the new UCL campaign.
