The biggest match of the season so far is finally here as FC Barcelona welcome Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League, looking to carry their excellent post-break form. Hansi Flick’s side has won all five matches since the international window, outscoring opponents by thirteen goals on aggregate, and they arrive at this clash brimming with confidence.
But while results have been positive, the injury situation continues to test Flick’s squad depth.
Team News
Raphinha (thigh) and Joan García (knee) are the latest to join the injury list and will miss this marquee encounter. Fermín López remains sidelined with a groin issue, while Gavi is still recovering from knee surgery that will keep him out for four to five months. Goalkeeper Marc-André ter Stegen is also unavailable due to a lingering back problem.

There is some good news, however. Alejandro Balde has returned to group training after a hamstring injury, though he is not expected to be risked from the start. The biggest boost comes with the return of Lamine Yamal, who made his comeback with an assist against Real Sociedad at the weekend and is in line to start against PSG.
FC Barcelona Predicted Lineup (4-2-3-1)
GK: Wojciech Szczęsny
With Joan García injured and Ter Stegen still sidelined, the experienced Polish international continues in goal. Szczęsny’s leadership will be critical against PSG’s high-powered frontline.
RB: Jules Koundé
Reliable and consistent, Koundé’s balance between defensive strength and forward thrust makes him vital on the right flank, where he will face plenty of work against PSG’s wide threats.
CB: Pau Cubarsí
The teenage sensation has shown maturity well beyond his years and is expected to start again. His ability to read the game and stay composed under pressure will be key in this clash.
CB: Ronald Araújo (C)
The defensive leader and Barcelona’s enforcer at the back, Araújo’s pace and physicality will be crucial in dealing with PSG’s attackers, especially in one-on-one situations.

LB: Gerard Martín
With Balde still being eased back, Martín retains his spot at left-back. He’ll need to remain disciplined while also offering width when Barça transition forward.
CM: Pedri
The creative heartbeat of the side, Pedri will once again be tasked to dictate the tempo in midfield and provide the passing quality needed to bypass PSG’s press.
CM: Frenkie de Jong
In top form and in his preferred role, De Jong will be responsible for controlling the game from deep, connecting defense to attack, and pushing forward into space when possible.
RW: Lamine Yamal
Back from injury and already impactful with an assist at the weekend, Yamal is a game changer, with his presence alone providing a unique threat to opponents. The teenager will be eager to make another big European night his own.
AM: Dani Olmo
Operating centrally, Olmo provides vision, creativity, and a sprinkle of magic whenever fully fit. His ability to exploit spaces between the lines will be vital in a match where both teams will aim to dominate possession.
LW: Marcus Rashford
The Englishman continues on the left flank, where his pace and direct dribbling will be needed to stretch PSG’s defense and create openings for Lewandowski.

ST: Robert Lewandowski
The veteran striker is back in form and back in the lineup, leading the line with his trademark movement and finishing ability. Barcelona will rely heavily on his presence to make their chances count.
