Barcelona are in a delicate financial situation where it is necessary for them to sell big in the next transfer market in order to improve.

Barcelona president, Josep Maria Bartomeu, had publically stated big plans for the next transfer window with intentions of signing big names like Lautaro Martinez and Neymar before the closure of his term as president.

The economic crisis at the club due to failed transfers such as Ousmane Dembele, Philippe Coutinho, and Antoine Griezmann, along with the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic has shaken the Barca board to its core.

Last Month it was clearly evident that there is something definitely wrong behind the doors at the Nou Camp with six board members resigning and a post on social media by Lionel Messi asking Technical Secretary Eric Abidal to take responsibility for mistakes rather than blaming it on the players.

To ensure that reinforcements are brought this summer, Bartomeu has to sell existing players to generate funds to secure the likes of Lautaro and Neymar. Jean-Clair Todibo is reportedly the centerpiece of this puzzle.

The French international was one of the rising stars at the German League with Schalke before the shutdown. The Bundesliga side were extremely happy with the defender’s performance with intentions of paying the 25 million euro plus variables to acquire his ownership from Barca. The economic crisis due to coronavirus, however, has put this plan on hold.

El Desmarque reports that the 20-year-old’s performance has ignited the interest of multiple European giants. Inter Milan are open to the idea of including the youngster in the Lautaro deal while another Italian side, Roma, are also negotiating his service with the Catalans.

Premier League side Everton, are willing to spend 20 million euros on the talented center-back. Todibo has become Barca’s most priced footballer for the next transfer window with the club aiming to make significant financial growth with his sale.

Should Barca sell Todibo despite searching for a center back themselves?
