12 Barcelona players to leave as part of an improved restructuring project.

Barcelona have placed 12 of their footballers on their transfer list as they look to raise funds for their mega signings like Lautaro Martinez.

More from Everything Barca

While the Champions League still remains as a hope to avoid a trophyless campaign for Barca, the board have already started their preparations for the next season. The next transfer window will be a quick one as the new season for the Catalans begins on September 12th, three weeks after the closure of the Champions League competition in Portugal.

Their intentions for incoming talents remain clear with the majority of effort going towards securing Inter Milan forward, Lautaro. But the real workload for Barca will come in the form of restructuring their current squad with multiple footballers tipped to leave before the start of the new season.

Earlier the long list of departures was a means of raising funds in order to balance the books but after the closure of a disappointing La Liga campaign, the board have decided that they need to significantly alter their footballing project.

Both, the players who have been shortlisted for an exit by coach Quique Setien and president Josep Maria Bartomeu, along with players that are returning from their respective loan spell, will all be evaluated for the future.

Marca reports that the club have quoted 12 footballers for the mega sale offer, with many being directly placed in the transfer market while others being a more optional choice based on what offers the club receives.

The former Juventus goalkeeper has rarely been used this season purely because of the club’s dependability on first-choice Marc-Andre ter Stegen. The lack of minutes is understandable considering the massive difference in quality between the two keepers but the 31-year-old has been linked with a departure this season with former La Masia graduate and current Ajax goalkeeper Andre Onana being named as the perfect replacement. Meanwhile ‘B’ team player, Inaki Pena, has also been named as plan B if no new back-up keeper is signed.
