Members of the Barcelona staff test positive for coronavirus.

Two respective staff members of Football Club Barcelona have tested positive for the coronavirus which has forced the club to postpone their regular training ahead of their La Liga clash against Athletic Bilbao.

More from Everything Barca

The Catalans look good in form as they played some attractive football in their 1-0 league win against Huesca. They failed to finish the chances they created as youngster Pedri shined extremely well and is turning out to be a personal favorite for Ronald Koeman.

Barca were supposedly heading out to the San Mamés Stadium for the away tie against Bilbao. However, their training on Tuesday was halted as two staff members had tested positive for the coronavirus.

The Spanish giants will be conducting tests in order to see if there are more cases found or not amongst the other members of the club, including players.

However, The Catalans will be urgently looking to get back on track in order to build on their victory at Huesca. Frenkie De Jong scored the winner as the La Liga giants secured their 6th game unbeaten in a row. They had two draws on this run against Valencia and Eibar where they drew 2-2 and 1-1 respectively.

Koeman’s men look pretty good on the ball as of now. They lack finishing clearly as the midfielders and creators of the team are doing their job as the forwards are failing to finish. Former Las Palmas player Pedri has been the only player who’s made an appearance in every game for Koeman so far.

The 18-year-old has been massive for the Catalan side this season. A few new signings in the January transfer window of this month is inevitable. Manchester City’s Eric Garcia and Olympique Lyon’s Memphis Depay are certainly on the cards for Barca as they are in a dire need of a centre-back and they failed to replace club veteran Luis Suarez. The centre-forward has 9 goals in 11 games for Diego Simeone’s team this season.
