Paris Saint-Germain look to sign young Barcelona full-back.

Mauricio Pochettino‘s Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly looking to strengthen their back four in order to improve the defensive problems that the French club have been facing. According to multiple sources, the French giants are reportedly going after Barcelona and Real Betis’ Emerson Royal.

More from Everything Barca

Emerson has a contract with Barcelona up until the year 2024 as he is co-owned along with Betis. However, the Brazilian is in his second full season with Manuel Pellegrini’s Real Betis. The Brazilian is very talented and could very well help PSG strengthen their defensive line nicely.

The full back’s performances against the likes of Sevilla grabbed clubs’ attention all throughout Europe. The likes of Paris Saint-Germain and AC Milan tried to land his signature in the previous transfer window but due to his complicated deal of ownership between two clubs, the transfer failed to occur.

There was also a giant possibility for Emerson to make a return to the Nou Camp last summer in order to use the full-back in a swap attempt with PSG, which would see Neymar Jr return to the Nou Camp. However, the co-ownership with Betis complicated the move.

Barca are ready to let go of the player as the arrival of Sergino Dest has made their line up more solid, while also having Sergi Roberto as an option. The French giants are aware of this and can likely land the player if a deal is agreed with Betis.

For whatever amount of money that the player is sold for, it will be equally divided between the two Spanish sides. Pochettino is reportedly looking to make an impact on this current transfer window very soon. The Argentine drew his first game as a PSG manager but the fans are hopeful about him delivering if he does end up getting the right players.
