Ansu Fati had suffered a serious knee injury since November 7, which has kept the Barcelona youngster out of action for the better part of this season.

Fati is expected to be out for a year on the sidelines. The Spaniard had already gone under the knife once for his meniscus issue and was due to make a return within four months but unfortunately, his return has been pushed back with no fixed timeline indicating that he might need more surgeries to repair the sustained damage.

He has played 10 games in all competitions this season and has scored five goals with registering two assists to his tally. This major setback has obviously made the 18-year-old quite heartbroken to miss out on this exciting football season and possibly the chance of helping his country, Spain in the World Cup qualifiers.

Here’s what the Barcelona player had to say

The winger has damped down the situation by sharing his thoughts on his Instagram stating that this isn’t his first rodeo. Ansu Fati has previously sustained another major setback a few years past. A fractured tibia and fibula have kept the youngster out for a year with a similar situation. Staying optimistic about his recovery Fati claimed that the particular incident has shaped his mentality and helped him grow as a person.

"“A few years ago I had a serious injury, a fractured tibia and fibula, and I couldn’t play for almost a year. There were many days of suffering and pain, but also a lot of learning. It helped me to appreciate the little details. With my family and all the professionals who helped me at that time, I promised myself to keep going and work harder than ever to get back to doing what I love the most.”“Unfortunately, now I have to live through a similar situation, which I will face with the same mentality. I want to thank all those people who follow me and support me on a daily basis. Football is my life and no matter how many obstacles there are, I will always have the illusion of continuing to fight for my dreams.” Ansu Fati wrote in a post on his official Instagram account."

The Barcelona winger is not losing any hope and is determined as ever to rehab his injury and look for alternatives that can aid his recovery without going under the knife one more time so quickly. But if no other alternate consultation works, the 18-year-old will have to resolve this surgically.
