5 Barcelona wonderkids that impressed in pre-season
Barcelona is a club that is booming with new talents all over the pitch. The famed La Masia academy has once again started to produce amazing talents, and we had the privilege to witness a few of their rising stars in the recent friendlies. The friendlies are often used by the managers to test out new youngsters, and Ronald Koeman was no different. The Dutch manager played a lot of youngsters during the preseason friendlies, and a lot of new players emerged onto the scene.

The former Everton and Southampton manager decided from the moment that he joined the club, that he would follow the path of Erk Ten Hag. The Ajax manager took the Dutch club to the semi-finals of the 2018/19 UEFA Champions League by playing youngsters, and developing the youth academy. Koeman’s vision was quite similar as he let go of many of the aged players in the club such as Arturo Vidal, Ivan Rakitic, and Luis Suarez.
Instead of them, came players like Pedri, Ansu Fati, Ilaix Moriba, Oscar Mingueza, Sergino Dest, and Ronald Araujo. The team was injected with the passion and dedication of the young stars, and even though some of them need more time to develop properly, they are all on the right path. Their futures with Barcelona look very bright, and with Koeman at the seat for next season as well, more young stars could be called up for action.
That is why all the stars from the B side have been given regular game time in the friendlies to test their abilities for the first team. The Catalans have played three friendlies till now, winning all of them quite convincingly. Here are the five players who have caught our eyes during these few preliminary matches.
