Although Barcelona may have been knocked out of the UEFA Champions League, that does not take away the decades of history that the club holds. Playing for Barcelona is still one of the biggest things that a player can achieve and it is still every players’ dream to either play for Barca or Real Madrid. Well, as it stands, Erling Haaland might be the latest player to chase that dream and his agent Mino Raiola suggests that the big money move might be coming sooner rather than later.

In an interview with Sport1, the super agent claimed that Haaland is very close to a move away to one of the top teams of Europe and that no one should be shocked by the decision. Borussia Dortmund was an intermediate step for his personal development but now that he feels like he is ready for the big leagues, he will have to make the move. According to Raiola, there are only a few clubs that really interests his client, those being Barcelona, Real Madrid, Manchester City and Bayern Munich. Other clubs like Paris Saint-Germain, Chelsea and Manchester United will definitely keep their eyes open but they are not his first choice. Raiola said,

"“He can and will take the next step, Bayern, Real, Barcelona, City – these are the big clubs he can go to. Maybe this summer, maybe the following summer. But there is a great possibility that Erling will leave this summer. We will see.”Source Marca"

Since Raiola name-dropped Barca, it means that the Catalans still have a chance to sign the super striker. For the Blaugrana to sign Haaland, a lot of ropes will have to be pulled and the money meant for the development of the new stadium could be invested as well. However, there is no doubt that the Catalans will benefit a lot from this move. Memphis Depay has not really proven a lot this season so far, and Sergio Aguero has retired altogether due to heart problems. Barcelona needs a striker and there is no one in the world better than Haaland at the moment.
