Will Barcelona continue to be the Women's Champions League's dominant force? Barça Femení have now featured in six successive finals, winning four of them, getting their hands on the trophy in three of the last four seasons.
Back in May, the Blaugrana demolished Olympique Lyonnais Féminin 4-0 in Oslo, so only a fool would not forecast that Barça will be one of the two clubs at Stadion Narodowy in Warsaw contesting this year's final. First and foremost, Pere Romeu's team must negotiate the league phase, so find out who the seven-in-a-row Spanish champions will face, following Friday's draw in Nyon.
Barcelona's Women's Champions League opponents
Home
- Pot 1: Arsenal
- Pot 2: Paris FC
- Pot 3: Servette Chênois
Away
- Pot 1: Bayern Munich
- Pot 2: AS Roma
- Pot 3: HB Køge
The fixture that jumps off the page is Barcelona's pot 1 opponent at home. This will be a rematch of the 2025 Champions League Final at Estádio José Alvalade, a match Barça actually lost, beaten 1-0 by Arsenal in Lisbon. Thus, they will be targeting some revenge. Before that though, they had won all four previous meetings with the Gunners, scoring 15 goals and conceding only one.
In terms of their other home games, Paris FC will also visit Catalonia. The pair met for the very first time on matchday six of last year's league phase, a 2-0 Barça victory at Stade Jean-Bouin. Lastly, they will also host debutants Servette Chênois. The Blaugrana's sole previous encounter with Swiss opposition saw them swat aside FC Zürich 6-1 on aggregate 13 years ago.
In terms of away matches for Pere Romeu's team, Bayern Munich are familiar foes, facing the Bavarians seven times, including three last season. Barça demolished the Bundesliga champions 7-1 in Sant Joan Despí during the league phase, before a 5-3 semi-final victory on aggregate.
Meantime, they've also won all three previous encounters with Roma, including a 4-0 win at Stadio Tre Fontane last October. Lastly, Barcelona will meet HB Køge for the second time, after the 2021 group stages, winning 2-0 in Denmark and 5-0 at home back then, with similar forecast.
