Barcelona needs a left winger this summer. That’s the reality and also a demand by fans and Hansi Flick alike.

What’s also becoming more and more of a truth is that the expensive avenues, like signing Rashford at over 30 million plus his high wages, or Leao at 50 million, are not what the club is pursuing at the moment. The club’s financial situation, coupled with the player profile Hansi Flick wants at Barcelona, indicates Barcelona looking at many different alternatives.

The following are players that actually make sense to Barcelona this summer.

Abde Ezzalzouli

The 24-year-old Moroccan left Barcelona in 2023 having not been valued enough, but since then has done nothing but show the Blaugrana how big a mistake they made by selling him to Real Betis.

In all competitions for Betis this season, Abde has contributed 11 goals and 8 assists in 35 games. This makes him one of the most effective wingers currently playing in Spain. And with the energy, directness and pressing ability, Flick would love what he could bring to Barcelona.

Barcelona retains a 20% sell-on clause, but this doesn't mean that the deal would automatically cost less. It does mean that Betis know that Barcelona has a degree of power over them. However, Abde’s contract doesn’t expire until 2029 so Betis would not be in a hurry to sell.

The 19-year-old Spaniard, who came through La Masia before being sold to Mallorca for about 4 million Euros last summer, represents Barcelona’s best potential bargain they could possibly get this summer.

Barcelona retains a sell-on clause of 40%, as well as the right of first refusal, meaning they could acquire him for about 10-12 million Euros.

In his first La Liga season, Munoz has made 24 appearances and has made 4 assists and 0 goals so far. Frankly he's not having the best spell in terms of stats at the club. But, it appears as though he is more than willing to rise to the challenge again, as the player is looking to return to Camp Nou in a team which will actually utilise his talents.

The 21-year-old Norwegian, playing for Benfica this season, has been one of the most exciting wide players in the Champions League. Creative, resistant to the press and technically adept in tight spaces, he really seems to fit Hansi Flick's playing style.

And his transfer fee would not break the bank for Barcelona as well, being available for around 20-30 million Euros. This season he has scored 9 goals and 5 assists in all competitions, and at 21 there is time for Barcelona to make him a future star.

5 goals and 2 assists in 31 La Liga matches playing for mid-table Osasuna is very acceptable. But there is more to his game than just goals, and that’s why both Barcelona and Real Madrid have their eyes set on him.

Munoz also got off the mark in his debut for Spain and at the age of 22, Munoz has established a considerable name for himself in La Liga.

A former academy player at the Camp Nou, he is certainly not unfamiliar with the system of the club. And despite a potential hurdle of Real Madrid's buy-back clause in his contract, Barcelona know that this is a player who is more than capable of stepping up for them.

Where does Barcelona go

While the transfer window has not officially opened, none of these deals are finalized, but the direction is clear. Barcelona will not be signing any player in the region of 50 million Euros in this position. Majority of the budget is likely to go in the acquiring of a new striker and a centre back.

These players fit Hansi Flick's requirements both tactically and financially. These players are cheaper alternatives and, in some cases, includes certain benefits such as sell-on clauses.

Hansi Flick is clear in his demand of clever signings and these are some players the Barcelona board cannot afford to miss.
