Barca's fringe forward unlikely to leave the club in January amidst departure rumors

FC Barcelona's start to the 2024/25 campaign has been brilliant. Being on the top of the La Liga table, that too having dominated their opponents so far, apart from marking their first UCL points this campaign recently, things have been going in the right direction for the players and the staff. However, unfortunately, that hasn't been the case with a fringe star who is still searching for form in the season.

Since his signing in January 2022, Spanish forward Ferran Torres hasn't enjoyed a brilliantly consistent stint with the Blaugrana club. After a remarkable debut season at the club, Torres has pretty much failed to deliver at the same level, despite being given chances regularly. On top of that has been the forward's recent form, which hasn't looked satisfactory for quite a while now.

This season, so far, although Ferran Torres has had three goal contributions to his name, his display hasn't been anywhere close to what is expected from him. Although being quite high in Barca boss Flick's pecking order for the left-wing role, the Spanish wing forward hasn't been effective in the last few games. However, surprisingly, recent reports indicate that the Spanish star is in Barcelona's plan for the future, being far from the club's releasing list.

Even though there have been offers for the fringe star from various clubs like Juventus, based on the player's national team heroics, where he is just 2 goals away from being one of their top scorers of all time, Torres is unlikely to leave Barca in the January window. As per Diario SPORT's reports, the wing forward will not leave the club in the next transfer window, as the club doesn't want to let him go in the middle of the season.

The report further reads that given Ferran's priority to succeed at FC Barcelona in the future, the player has no intention to leave. Analyzing from a neutral perspective, Torres' bad stint in recent games has been much of an issue, being a crucial factor in the club's recent loss against Osasuna and Monaco. And in such a scenario, sticking with him for the future could prove detrimental for FC Barcelona.

Moreover, what has been shocking with the club has been their consideration of releasing Ansu Fati, who hasn't even been tested in the left-wing role. Surely, this decision comes with a pinch of salt for the Blaugrana fans, who haven't seen any positive performance from Torres this season. However, given that it is what it is, the club fans would hope that Ferran returns to form soon, becoming effective in the left-wing role as he was in his debut season.
