Hull City sensation's Barcelona dream is over for now

Jaden Philogene's rise in the EFL Championship has been remarkable. Signed for 5M pounds from Aston Villa in 2023, the 22-year-old scored twelve goals and provided six assists in 32 appearances for Hull City.

One of the best moments from the Englishman was his Rabona goal against Rotherham, which later happened to be given as an own goal due to a slight touch from the defender. The winger, better known for his pace and dribbling, has attracted interest from all across Europe.

Even Barcelona was said to have an interest in Jaden as a low-cost alternative to Nico Williams. However, this transfer rumor seems over for now. Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has dropped a massive update on Philogene's transfer, saying,

Philogene's desire to represent FC Barcelona

However, Jaden still dreams of signing for Barcelona in the long run despite moving to the Premier League for now. Speaking about his dream club, Jaden said,

From Barcelona's point of view, they would be happily content if they managed to sign Nico Williams to bolster their attack this summer. Instead, the midfield is an area of concern at Camp Nou, with Pedri, Gavi, and Frenkie De Jong all sidelined with injuries and highly likely to miss the preseason in the United States and the first few matchdays of the 2024/25 La Liga season.
