In recent days, FC Barcelona has been associated with several player sales. While the Blaugrana club has completed the sale of Julian Araujo, they are on the lookout to sell other major stars like Vitor Roque, Ansu Fati, and De Jong. Though Roque and Fati have reached the verge of moving out of Barcelona, De Jong's case is a strange one.

A few days ago, journalist Javi Miguel reported that Frenkie de Jong's story is never-ending. The player has been out for 14 weeks due to an ankle sprain and still has no definite return time. Given the kind of sprain De Kong had faced, it is extremely rare for that recovery to take so long.

Moreover, what escalates the complications regarding the midfielder's future is that he has been ignoring the club's renewal proposal. Thus, the possibility of the star midfielder moving out of the Catalan club is taking rounds at the club.

Not long ago, Manchester United approached FC Barcelona over the possibility of signing Frenkie de Jong this summer. However, United had conditioned that they would make a move if his price was around £30M-£40M, which may be an off for the deal.

Given FC Barcelona spent £65.3M in 2019 to acquire the midfielder's signature, the Blaugrana club wants to extract a significant amount for De Jong. Recently, journalist Matte Morento reported that Barcelona is open to selling Frenkie De Jong for around €60M fixed plus bonuses.

However, a major off in De Jong's potential move has been his being currently injured. As per reports, De Jong has been arriving for training recently and is looking forward to a quick recovery, making his return as soon as possible. But still, no definite date is available reflecting the midfielder's return.

Analyzing from Barcelona's perspective, De Jong's unavailability has been a major setback for FC Barcelona. Given that he is the highest salaried player at the club, De Jong hasn't been able to materialize the expectations the club had due to injuries. Thus, he currently stands as one of the three players whose Barca future remains uncertain.

As of now, there hasn't been much progress in the midfielder's potential move out of Barcelona, but the Catalan club has been hoping for European clubs to come up with an offer for De Jong. Overall, it looks clear that if an offer worth €60M arrives for him, Barca won't hesitate to sell De Jong.
