Barcelona to apply a new formula to secure their massive double signings.

Barcelona are looking into the possibility of using a different method from their original in order to secure both Inter Milan’s Lautaro Martinez and Juventus’ Miralem Pjanic.

The Catalan giants have until July to close their financial books for the current season which has been deeply affected by the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. The giants of the football world that took part in the latest Champions League campaign will not be receiving the usual amount expected after partaking in the tournament.

The Champions League is expected to return in August with no Stadium spectators allowed. La Liga is also returning next month in a similar fashion but the clubs have already sustained enough financial damage that they must adapt to an alternative method to secure transfers in the next window.

Barca have been closely linked with Juventus’ Miralem Pjanic and Inter Milan’s Lautaro Martinez with both the Italian giants looking to secure Barca players in exchange. Inter are requesting multiple players from the Catalans while Juventus want either Arthur Melo or Ansu Fati.

The Pjanic deal would have long been announced had Arthur agreed to move to Turin. Rightfully so, the Brazilian midfielder feels that he can still provide a lot to the Spanish side and wants to prove his worth by remaining at the Nou Camp next season. This decision forced Barca to offer Juventus other players instead, but they are not too worried if the negotiations fail as Pjanic at 30 years of age can only provide his versatility and vast experience for a couple more years.

Barca feels that they could study an alternative formula in order to secure Pjanic. They could have included Nelson Semedo in the deal as the highly demanded full-back was previously very close to joining the Turin side but rejected the offer. The deal is probably not going to be reignited but Barca are ready to offer Arturo Vidal and Ousmane Dembele instead. Vidal has been linked with a move to Inter but the Chilean can perfectly fit the Juventus project also while Ousmane Dembele has also been recently made available for a move away from Camp Nou.

While Barca awaits Juve’s response to the two players, they might opt for an alternative plan of convincing the Italian side by offering some youngsters. While Ansu Fati remains off-limits, Mundo Deportivo via Tuttosport claims that they can include 5 youngsters to the mix. Carles Alena, Riqui Puig, Ilaix Moriba are the existing midfielders that are being named while new signings, Francisco Trincao and Pedri are also made available.

The deal with Inter Milan remains the same with Inter’s sporting director demanding the payment of the 111 million euros transfer fee demanded. Barca wants to offer Junior Firpo and Arturo Vidal, as both players fit Antonio Conte’s game plan, but Inter officially does not want any player exchanges.

It remains to be seen if their new formula of including big Barca prospects works but gaining Lautaro and Pjanic by losing some of the greatest talents in La Masia looks like a recipe for disaster in the long term.
