According to reports from Express, Barcelona president Joan Laporta is heavily interested in bringing back Neymar Jr at the Nou Camp. These reports also suggest that the Brazilian may just be brought back to La Liga this summer as the Catalans could work a swap deal with Paris Saint-Germain.

More from Everything Barca

The Barcelona president is extremely open to the idea of having the former Santos player back in his squad. Recent reports claimed that Neymar has paused his contract talks with PSG and is really interested in the idea of heading back to the Nou Camp. The Brazilian is keen on reuniting with Lionel Messi and playing like the old days once again.

The French giants looked to have Neymar secured for yet another long-term deal as the possibility of Messi heading to the Parc des Princes became more of a reality after last season. However, now that it looks like the Argentine will be staying at the club after a positive shift in the environment at Barca, and this has somehow resulted in the new contract talks with Neymar being slowed down.

Neymar wants to reunite with Lionel Messi at Barcelona

It almost seems like the former Barcelona star just wants to reunite with Messi for one last time as the Argentine’s days are nearing the end in European top flight. Laporta seems confident about a possible move for the Brazilian back to the Nou Camp in the summer. After his departure from the club in 2017, he failed to secure a UEFA Champions League with Paris Saint-Germain.

It is most definitely a long shot. The arrival of Neymar will not at all be easy, but reports suggest that the Brazilian international is willing to join them for free in 2022. PSG, however, will do their very best to keep the player.

Of course, it also goes without saying that the player will be expensive from all angles, even with a free transfer. With the current financial problems at the club, it will not exactly be the easiest for the Catalans to land Neymar again at this point, especially with his wage bills and potential transfer fee.
