Barcelona are set to commence their Champions League title defence, and are overwhelming favourites to retain their title. Back in May, Pere Romeu's team demolished Lyon 4-0 in Oslo, Ewa Pajor and Salma Paralluelo both bagging second half braces, thereby crowned European champions for the fourth time.
Amazingly, the Blaugrana have featured in each of the last six Champions League Finals, winning four of them, hence why most expect they will be at the Stadion Narodowy in Warsaw at the end of this season too. Well, Barça Femení have begun the new Liga F season on fire, winning four matches out of four, scoring 19 goals. Given their domestic dominance, European success is always the priority.

Pere Romeu rotated his team for Friday's 6-0 demolition of Alavés, but the stars will return. These include goalkeeper Cata Coll, Kika Nazareth and Esmee Brugts. Polish striker Ewa Pajor was the top scorer in last season's Champions League with 11.
Assuming Marta Torrejón features, it would be her 90th appearance in the Champions League, equalling the record for a Spanish women, currently held by the recently departed Alexia Putellas.
